Cutest baby on the block!

Mr. Jackson is 8 weeks old today.  I can't believe how fast 8 weeks has went.  He is getting soooo big!  He's still my monster baby :)  I'm really curious to see what he weighs and what percentiles he is in.  I'm not so excited for him to get his first shots.  I'm hoping I won't cry, haha.  He's really starting to smile ALOT and we are loving it!  He loves walks in the Moby Wrap, but it's in the 100's this week so we won't be doing that.  He usually likes having his diaper changed.  He really likes to be talked to.   He loves looking out the window.  He still hates car rides and now hates tummy time.  He used to love tummy time. It's crazy how much they change in such a short amount of time!!

After a couple nights of him getting up EVERY 30 minutes...I decided we were going to try to start getting into a routine around here.  He would seriously wake up every 30 minutes and then just smile at me when I went to pick him up!  He wasn't even hungry, haha.  Just missed his momma :)  Soooo, we are now trying to stick to a little bit of a schedule.  So far it's going good.  Cross your fingers for us!!

He can finally fit in his Baby J's...which are a size bigger than his feet SHOULD be, haha.  Told ya..monster baby!

Chicago and Newborn Pictures

Well, let me start off my saying that Jackson absolutely HATES car rides, no matter how long or short they are.  Usually, a ride ends up in him screaming....red-faced and losing breath.  That is why Darrin and I were really worried about this trip to Chicago.  It was for Dexter's first birthday, so we had to go.  We couldn't miss Sexy Dexy turning 1!!!  Jackson did a lot better than I thought he would, but it wasn't ideal or anything.  Plus, we just happened to hit crazy traffic, which extended our ride.  We took some lullaby CD's, which I thought helped a lot.  A pacifier....we couldn't have survived without it, haha.  I just had to hold it in his mouth.  His little monkey stuffed animal toy thing.  It plays a little lullaby when you pull its tail.  And a light blanket to TRY to keep our houdini wrapped up...fail.  This child cannot be contained!  But, we survived and had a good time.  I'm sure our next trip will be better :)  And we can't wait to see them all again!

I also got Jackson's newborn pictures that I had ordered.  I couldn't scan one of them, because it was too big....so enjoy :)

6 weeks old and wrinkle free :(

Jackson was officially 6 weeks old yesterday!  And let me tell you...he is getting BIG.  We have a monster baby on our hands.  I'm convinced he eats WAY more than the average baby, haha.  When he does nurse, he eats so fast that he's out of breath and I have to make him take a break!!  Everything he does is loud.  He nurses loud, grunts loud, burps loud, farts loud, etc. loud. Such a boy, that's for sure.  He loves his morning smile sessions with momma :)  He's also getting more used to baths.  He HATED them at first...but he's coming around.  He also hates car rides...  Yup, the only baby in the history of the world to HATE car rides.  So it's always super fun to go anywhere...cuz he likes to scream it out the majority of the way to wherever we're going.  He's still super cute :)  We have a trip to Chicago tomorrow, so we're crossing our fingers that it goes well.....

The most important news in all of 6 weeks....HIS WRINKLE IS GONE!!  And I'm super sad about it.  I wanted his ear wrinkle to stay forever :(  I just happened to look down and noticed that it was gone...not okay.  I guess the world will go on and he will still look cute as ever, but I'm still sad about it, haha.

Haha, that outfit was still too big...so it makes him look extra wide.  But...isn't he huge?!  My BIG man!

1 month check-up

Mr. Jackson had his one month check-up this week!  He's really growing.  He's already 11.1 pounds.  My guess was 10.3.....I was WAY wrong!  He's in the 75th percentile for height and weight, but in the 80th for head circumference.  Everything is pretty proportional.  At this rate, his weight will bypass his height, haha.  Everything was good with him :)

He had his first bottle today!  He's such a big boy.  He took it like a champ, I guess.  It was the first time I've been away from him longer than like 20 minutes.  I was gone for like 2.5 hours!  Of course, I was texting like crazy making sure he was okay.  He ate 4 oz. before I got home and then ate when I got home!!  No wonder he's gaining like crazy!  He sure missed his momma :)  And his momma sure missed him...

I've officially switched him to 0-3 months, but theres still a few newborn things he can fit in.  His feet are already too big for 0-3 sleepers.  I'm gonna have to cut holes for his toes!  The 0-3 clothes are still loose around his belly, but fit his length.  I have myself a long and skinny boy...but he's fillin' out fast.  We've been trying to narrow down Halloween costume ideas.  So far Star Wars is the leading contender.  Darrin would be Hans Solo.  I would be Princess Leia.  Jackson would be Chewbacca.  And Polka Dot will either be Darth Vader (Donk Vader) or Yoda (Yoda Donk).  No official decisions have been made :)

Jackson is one month old!!

Wow, does time fly!  Jackson is a whole month old today!!!  I can't even believe it.  He's getting soo big.  He has a doctor's appointment on Tuesday and I'm really excited to see how big he is getting.  I was just thinking today...I never want him to get too big to snuggle with me.  It'll be one sad day for this momma :(  We finally got his newborn picture proofs.  They are adorable!  Of course, it helps that my little man is so darn cute.  I'm gonna have a really hard time narrowing down what ones we want...

We have some pretty big plans this summer for little man.  Daddy's birthday is this month and he has a bridal shower to go to the day before that.  He has his first Chicago trip for Dexter's birthday this month.  I hope he does okay on that long car ride.  Hopefully he'll take a bottle good before we go, so we can just give him one on the way if he gets hungry...which he will!  I do have a milk monster on my hands.  In July, he has The Color Run that he's going to with us!  I'm really excited for that, too.  The run looks so fun, because of all the color they throw around.  I'm gonna walk with him thru it.  What's even better is that they donate to a charity for every run.  The one we're going to is donated to the Simon Youth Foundation.

Poor Polka Dot has had her world turned upside down lately.  First, Jackson comes home and takes all her attention away.  Completely stole her thunder!  She's starting to adjust a little better.  Then, we get some different furniture, which doesn't seem like a big deal.  Well, it is for Polka Dot!  She had a perch on the old couch, which is now gone.  There isn't even a place for her to perch now.  I feel awful for poor Poke.  She used to sleep with us every night too.  Now she can't even do that, cuz Jackson's co-sleeper is in our bed.  She needs some serious TLC, which is why we took a nap together today and cuddled :)
