Pros and Cons

Well, I'm sure every pregnant person has their own list of pros and cons about pregnancy.  It seems like most women have a longer list of cons, haha.  It's alllll worth it, though.

PROS

1.  Watching him dance around in my belly.  I know that I'm going to miss that like crazy.  I spend half the day just watching my belly move around :)

2.  The difference in thought processes.  It is crazy how differently I think now.  It's like you instantly grow up and worry about "important" things.  I wouldn't say that I wasn't grown up before, but I did worry about little things.  My entire thought process has changed.

3.  Knowing that I'll get to meet my little man.  Everyone keeps telling me that it's comin' up...but I feel like it's soooo far away!  I don't wanna wait that long, but I'm willing to as long as he's happy and healthy.

4.  People getting me chairs to sit in :)  This isn't really a pro, just really funny.  Darrin and I went shopping last weekend and the sales associate got me a chair to sit in while Darrin tried on some shorts.  I swear people think pregnant women are crippled!

CONS

1.  So far, rib "pain" has been the worst!  It's not super painful or anything, just REEEALLLY uncomfortable.  It has been the most irritating part of being pregnant.  I am not comfortable sitting in any position.  I am only comfortable laying down.  So Polka Dot and I have been spending our days laying in bed and cuddling :)

2.  Getting up to pee at night.  Some nights are soo much better than others.  Some nights I only get up twice, but sometimes I get up like 5 times!  That makes for very little sleep....

3.  Not being able to bend over normally.  This includes putting shoes on, haha.  You have a big belly getting in the way.  I feel out of breath after I bend over sometimes...it's crazy!

4.  My belly getting in the way of things.  I am not used to having a belly to watch out for.  Several times I've walked up to a counter to be stopped by my belly, haha.

5.  About peeing my pants when I sneeze.  I am convinced that before I have this baby I will pee my pants.  Sneezing is a pretty serious thing when you're pregnant, haha.  I have came soo close to peeing my pants.  I would laugh so hard if I did.  I'll make sure to let everyone know :)

29 weeks

Onto week 29!  I started walking at the gym, because it's entirely too cold outside.  Who knew you could get sore from walking?!!  My brother took Polka Dot on a huge walk the other day and she couldn't walk that night from being so sore.  I feel like her, haha.  I also put the crib, changing table, and dresser together.  That definitely didn't help.  I think I'm more worn out from that than actually walking!  I plan on relaxing and not doing anything the rest of tonight and possible tomorrow :)

How far along?  29 weeks
Total weigh gain/loss:  I think 18 :(  I feel large.
Maternity Clothes:  I ordered some online, but haven't gotten them yet.  They were all on sale!!
Stretch marks?  Nope
Sleep:  Depends on the night.  I've been trying to not nap during the day so I sleep better at night...I don't think it's helping, though.
Best moment this week:  My mom bought the crib, changing table, and dresser this week.  And I got it put together (with some help).  I also had an appointment today.  That damn glucose test.  It wasn't as awful as I thought it would be, but I had to wait around FOREVER!  On top of that, they make you fast before and then take a thousand (actually only three) things of blood.  When you haven't had anything to eat before, that definitely makes ya feel a little woozy!  BUT, I finally got it over with (I was dreading it).  I had an OB appointment too, so I got to hear little man's heartbeat :)  140 this week.  And now I'm measuring where I should be....strange.  He's also head down now, which is great.  At my ultrasound in December he was still breech.
Miss Anything?  a full night's sleep.....
Movement:  He's still movin' away in there...
Food cravings:  Nope
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope
Have you started to show yet:  Oh yeah.  I feel huge.
Gender:  All boy :)
Labor Signs:  Not that I'm aware of.  I could've swore I felt a Braxton Hicks yesterday, but who knows...
Belly Button in or out?  In
Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy, but tired
Looking forward to:  I think I might go get a dress for the shower this weekend, so I guess that's exciting, haha.  That isn't nearly as exciting as getting Chipotle if I do go!  I love that place :)

Who will he look like?

Who will he look like?  It's something I've thought about the entire time!  It seems like everyone starts to think about it more the closer we get to seeing him, which feels like forever away...  I'm hoping he looks like little Darrin.  He was the cutest thing I've ever seen!  I had a pretty serious head of curls and wish that on no one!  Either way, I'll love him the same :)  Darrin and I talked about getting a 3d ultrasound, but decided we wanted to be completely surprised by what he is going to look like...and they kind of creep Darrin out, haha.

Was he not the cutest thing ever?

You just can't deny that little face...

And the head of curls....it's pretty serious...

I'm the one in the back, obviously, haha

I guess we'll see in May!!

28 weeks!!

We've officially made it to the third trimester!!!!  It's hard to believe that my little man has been in there for 28 weeks.  For some reason, I'm really excited to be starting the third trimester.  I'm not sure why...maybe because that means we're one step closer to seeing his little face.  I can't wait to meet him.  I wonder what he'll look like, act like, want to be when he grows up, etc.  I read a lot of pregnancy boards and blogs....and I've noticed that a lot of women are starting to get scared about labor.  For some reason, I'm not scared, but maybe I should be, haha.  I'm convinced that I'm gonna go into labor when Darrin has a final or something...I'll have to have Polka Dot drive me :)

It's hard to believe we've went from this (very first picture together)...

To this!

And she just looked too precious not to add...

How far along? 28 weeks :)
Total weight gain/loss:  up 14
Maternity clothes? actually bought a "tummy sleeve" so I could keep wearing my old jeans, but nothing else yet
Stretch marks? not yet
Sleep: This week has been awful!  Instead of the usual 2 times, it's been about 5 times getting up.  When I finally get to lay back down, I feel like I just lay there awake.  Here's to hoping it doesn't last long...
Best moment this week:  Knowing that we're out of the second trimester and into the third!  I finally found an outfit for him to come home in!  I've been over-thinking it and just couldn't make a decision.  I finally decided on something and ordered it!  It should be here today.
Miss anything? Comfort.  Oh, he definitely lets me know when he doesn't like what way I'm sitting...
Movement: Yup, he's still movin' around.  He's been a little more active this week, compared to last week.  I can literally see when he is rolling from side to side.  And those kicks are getting more powerful...
Food cravings:  No cravings...
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope
Have you started to show yet:  Sure have
Gender:  My little man :)
Labor signs:  None yet
Belly button in or out?  Still in...
Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy, but tired...
Looking forward to:  Getting to hear his heartbeat next week...I love that :)

Have a good week!!

27 weeks :)

We've made it to 27 weeks!!  Technically, I have about 4 hours before I'm 27 weeks, but this is close enough.  I guess we've had a pretty exciting week.  I had another appointment today and she said baby is "perfect"!!  It's always good to hear little man is perfect :)  I'm measuring about a week or two smaller, but she said that's fine.  I'll probably just have a smaller baby.  She checked my ultrasound pictures again and said everything looks really good.  His heart rate is 153 and she had to chase him around to find it like usual!  I definitely worry about things too much, so it's really nice to hear that everything is going really well :)  I start going every 2 weeks from here until 36 weeks...so hopefully time goes by a little faster!  It was just an awesome appointment....

Baby Jax had the hiccups the other day.  It was the first time I've felt him have hiccups.  It was pretty cool. It was after a day where he was super calm, so it made me feel better.  Somedays he is super active and others he is super chill.  I asked at my appointment if that was normal and she said that's normal.  He still doesn't want anybody else to feel him move, though.  He just loves his momma :)

I found the CUTEST little Jordan's today in Effingham.  I was so close to buying them!  Darrin loves the Cardinals and I found some Cardinal booties, too.  I didn't buy those either.  I've decided that I'm not going to buy anything until AFTER the shower, which is sooo hard.  I decided that a long time ago, but bought a ton of stuff last weekened...oops :)

How far along: 27 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 14 lbs..yikes...
Maternity clothes:  Still haven't bought any
Stretch Marks:  None yet, but I check on a daily basis, haha
Sleep:  It all depends on the day.  Some days are better than others, but I'd say good the majority of the time
Best moment this week:  My appointment that went awesome!  It was also really cool to feel him hiccup and FINALLY decide on a name!  Polka Dot seems to be limping less, too :)
Miss Anything?  Definitely the ability to do the things I use to be able to do.  I'm not used to being exhausted after barely doing anything.  Still wanna be able to bend over comfortably, too!
Movement:  He's still swimmin' around.  Somedays he's wild and somedays he's just calm, but I definitely feel him everyday
Food cravings:  I can't think of anything this week....
Anything making you queasy or sick:  nope
Have you started to show yet:  Yup
Gender:  Boy :)
Labor Signs:  Still none...let's keep it that way for awhile
Belly Button In or out?  Still in
Happy or Moody most of the time:  I'm still happy most of the time, but starting to get more exhausted lately
Looking forward to:  My next appointment...only because I want to get it over with.  It's the glucose screening appointment and I really don't want to drink that nasty stuff they make you drink.  I also don't want to sit around forever and have to get blood drawn.  BUT hopefully everything turns out good and it'll be worth it.

Baby G has a name!

We've been having a hard time nailing down a name for little Baby G.  Darrin has officially decided he's sick of calling him Baby G...which is a huge step!  Middle names have been the easiest for us.  It's that first name...it's a hard thing to do.  It's a lot of pressure.  We want to love it...want him to love it...and want everybody else to love it...  Such a hard task to accomplish.

Anyway, in the beginning, everyone thought it was going to be Lincoln.  Everybody liked it and it seemed to stick.  Then one day, Darrin decided he didn't like it anymore.  His reasoning?  He didn't want people in school to call him "Stinkin' Lincoln!"  Haha, the reasons we have for not liking names!  So we moved past Lincoln.  We've had quite the list to narrow down :

Lincoln
Dominic
Jaxon
Jayden
Julian
Beckett
Elijah
...the list goes on

We've also had a hard time agreeing on spelling of names.  I like the more unique spellings and Darrin likes the more conservative spellings.  I had originally brought up Jaxon.  Darrin hated that spelling.  He preferred Jackson.  So.......the name we've decided on is........

JACKSON REID GORDON
Nickname:  Jax

There are no promises that something won't come up to change it!  So far, we love it.  It's been the only name we've consistently liked, which is huge.  So Jackson will be his name, unless we see him and he absolutely looks like a Beckett (which we also loved).  Does his little foot look like a Jax foot? :)

26 weeks

We're officially at 26 weeks today!  Almost out of the second trimester :)  It's been a pretty calm week baby-wise.  Nothing too exciting has happened.  Just a typical week.  Somedays he moves like crazy and somedays he's super calm.  We still haven't decided on a name.  I don't think we ever will!  Just about when I think we've narrowed it down, Darrin starts lookin' and comes up with more.  Right now, we've narrowed it down to 2 and I'm happy with them.  I have no intention of looking for anymore, but Darrin has other plans!  I'm beginning to think he won't have a name when he's born!  I never realized how hard it was for people to name their kids.  It's a lot of pressure!  It'd be nice for everyone to like the name, but we know it's impossible...

In other news, we took Polka Dot to the vet yesterday.  She needed to get her shots, because she was overdue.  We also wanted to get her hips checked out.  She is super stiff when she gets up after she's been layin' down for awhile.  She has a little bit of a limp, but it doesn't seem to hurt her or anything.  After she walks around for awhile, she comes out of it.  It's like she has arthritis or something!  Anyway, the vet said she "25% overweight"...poor girl.  Basically, she needs to lose about 10 pounds.  25% sounds so much worse than 10 pounds!  We're gonna start walking her every morning and we have to limit her food intake.  At least nothing is wrong with her hips!  She's just a little hefty.  I love my Polka just the way she is!  Fat and Sassy

How far along? 26 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: still not sure, I’ll know next week tho
Maternity clothes? None yet…
Stretch marks? None yet…
Sleep: I sleep fine, although I can never get enough of it!
Best moment this week: Been a pretty calm week…..nothing very exciting happened.  We have an appointment next week tho!  We found out Polka doesn't have anything wrong with her hips, though!
Miss Anything? I’d say I miss the ability to bend over comfortably this week….it’s been kickin’ my ass!
Movement: He’s still movin’ around in there.  There were a couple days that he moved like CRAZY!  The last couple days he's been calm, though.
Food cravings: Those mini muffins in the packs….been eatin’ a lot of those.  I’ve also had a lot of grapes this week…
Anything making you queasy or sick: nope
Have you started to show yet: Yup
Gender: Little Man
Labor Signs: No labor signs…I think I’d freak out
Belly Button in or out? In
